LEONARD ELISHA
• Leonard Elisha is a third year Undergraduate UBC student in the field of General sciences and recently Computer Science. He was born in Tanzania speaking Swahili and Sukuma as his first languages. He likes sharing Swahili language and culture with people around him. He learned programming languages such as Java, C++ and C, which acquainted him with the fundamentals of learning any computer programming language. Leonard will be useful for all those want to join the Go Global and pursue Swahili courses of different levels since he has worked with UBC Go Global. Leonard is also helping in designing and maintain the Karibu website as he is a web designer expert. He is fun, a talented Swahili singer and performer. You’ll have a lot of fun with Leonard in Karibu!
DANIEL MUNDEVA
• DANIEL MUNDEVA Daniel Mundeva is a fourth year Undergraduate UBC student of Environmental geography. Dan is a Tanzanian born and raised and considers himself one of the all-time Swahili lovers! He has taught Swahili at Bugarama Secondary School in Kahama, Tanzania. Other Bantu languages that he speaks include Sukuma, Nyamwezi and Sumbwa. If you attend a UBC Africa Awareness Initiative event you don’t need to look for Dan! Before you are stunned by his talent in dancing and drumming just look for a guy in a traditional Nyamwezi attire. Dan is an amazing demonstrator of Swahili culture. You cannot miss Karibu with Dan in it!
